When we received the first batch of venison, we never imagined the impact it would have. That delivery was on the 27th of June 2023 of 920 kgs of venison mince. In May 2024, 340kgs was delivered with four extra deliveries in between taking the total to 2770 kg in less than 12 months.

Most of the mince has been distributed to 17 organisations stretching from Oxford to Kaikoura with food banks being the most dominant group, smaller family-based organisations are also included, with the newest recipient being Tuahiwi Marae.

Over 22,000 people have been fed by the venison mince supplied thus far. With High Peak Hunting New Zealand and Monarch New Zealand coming on board we are told to expect 500kg per month for the foreseeable future.

We continue to be amazed that what started with one phone call, a vision to help others, and support from the hunting community can be achieved.

On a cold frosty morning North Loburn School pupils visited and generously donated 275kg of venison mince for us to distribute, this donation resulted from the North Canterbury Kids Hunt. Tuahiwi Marae and a lady who cooks for disadvantaged youth were the main recipients of the venison. We provided the remaining mince to some of our pensioners who were delighted with their unexpected gift.
